Preparing PLATO® Interactive Mathematics &
PLATO® Interactive English
Labs Using Imaging Software
Fall 2005
Many of you create images to deploy software to your campus computers. This document provides the best practice techniques you should follow to ensure that your images are created correctly before you deploy them.
Images should be created as follows:
1. Update your ISS server to 11.0 using the server updater (http://www2.academic.com/resources/serverupdate.htm). There is no harm in doing this even if students are currently using Interactive English 9.0 or Interactive Mathematics 10.0 in the lab.
2. If PLATO Interactive English is already installed, go to the
next step.
To install PLATO Interactive English, use your PLATO Interactive English Client
Installation CD, or click the “Download IE Client Installer CD” link on the
Online Resources site (http://www2.academic.com/resources/onlineresources.htm)
to download the PLATO Interactive English client installer.
3. If PLATO Interactive Mathematics is already installed, go to
the next step
To install PLATO Interactive Mathematics, use your PLATO Interactive
Mathematics Client Installation CD, or click the “Download IM Client Installer
CD” link on the Online Resources site (http://www2.academic.com/resources/onlineresources.htm)
to download the PLATO Interactive Mathematics client installer.
4. If you skipped steps 2 or 3, run the client updater by clicking the “Fall 2005 Client Update and Instructions and Patch” link on the Online Resources site, (http://www2.academic.com/resources/clientupdate.htm).
5. Verify permissions using the instructions available at http://support.academic.com/academicknowbase/root/public/acdm7066.htm.
6. Double click the IM icon on your desktop and logon. This will configure the workstation to point to the correct server.
7. Your image is now complete. Deploy your images to a test lab machine and log on from that machine.
8. Deploy your image to all lab machines.
Your PLATO Interactive Mathematics/English lab is now ready to go.
